Q. What is your open season?
A. We open on May 1st and hold our last wedding the final weekend in October.
Q. Can we bring our own food or caterer?
A. As of 2020, we do not allow for outside catering. We have Roots Catering starting at $44 per person as our exclusive option. The price for renting the barn does not include the catering price. Due to liability issues, homemade food cannot be served at Barn Swallow Farm.
Q. Can we use other outside vendors?
A. The 4 vendors that must come from our preferred list are the caterer, bartender, day-of coordinator and DJ. As long as the vendors you choose can show proof of insurance, then outside vendors for things such as photography, florals, bakers, videography and officiants can be selected.
Q. What is you alcohol policy?
A. We do not hold a liquor license so you provide your own alcohol. We have kegerators that hold 1/4 kegs and sixtle (1/6 kegs). We allow service of beer, wine, sangria, champagne, wine coolers, hard seltzers and up to 2 signature drinks. We do not allow shots, more than 2 mixed drinks, OTR, up, neat, Fireball, Jaegermeister or other high proof alcohols. All drinks must be a mixed drink only. There is no hard alcohol allowed in the Grooms Room or Bridal Suite before the ceremony. All bartending services are the responsibility of the renting party and must be provided by Served with a Twist from our preferred list. Host Liquor Liability insurance is required (found on our website barnswallowfarmpa.com) prior to your wedding day at a cost of $51. Liquor insurance will also provide $1 million in general liability as well.
Q. Is there a place to hold the ceremony on site as well?
A. We have options for ceremony dependent on your guest list size. We have 4 separate options:
1. Stream-side ceremony (additional cost)
2. Wagon shed ceremony for 115 guests or less (additional cost)
3. Tent (30 x 50) for guest count over 115 for $750 additional cost over the set up fee for outside ceremony
4. Barn wedding for 100 guests or less
Q. Can our dog be included in the ceremony?
A. Dogs are welcome to come to the ceremony only as long as they are a non-aggressive breed, have no history of biting anyone and have someone assigned to keep them leashed and pick up after them. We do have ducks that hang out near the ceremony that we have no control over so consider whether this will be a problem for your dog to control themself around. We cannot have animals that chase or harm our pets in any way. All dogs must be taken off property once any photographs of them are finished. They may not stay in the suites, in a car, or on Barn Swallow property after photos. If your animal bites anyone or causes harm to any animals, it is the at the full liability of the owner and/or handler to rectify the situation monetarily and legally.
